A Diamond Legacy

I was in Gimbels in Milwaukee on my 25th birthday trying to decide whether I would buy myself a KitchenAid mixture with some of my birthday money. An "older" gentleman told me he and his wife were celebrating their 40th anniversary -- they had received a KitchenAid Mixer as a Wedding gift. He said while the china had chipped and the linens were long ago worn out, they still had the mixer and used it at least once a week.
I bought a KitchenAid lift-bowl stand mixer that day -- now nearly 35 years later, that mixer has a prized place in my kitchen (I had the cabinet maker measure when we remodeled the kitchen so that I could slide it under my upper cabinet). We use it regularly and have purchased many accessories (ice cream maker, slicer, pasta maker). I have never regretted the purchase.
A little over two years ago, we purchased this model for my daughter - same great quality (and she has "borrowed" my slicer - and it works the same on her mixer as it does on mine).

My amazing husband bought this for my birthday so I no longer have to make cakes with a handmixer, and it has changed my baking life! This is the perfect size to make layer cakes. I no longer have to make several small batches of frosting, this baby takes care of everything. Not to mention it just looks so pretty!

I have always wanted a KitchenAid stand mixer and this one has proved why. It is so powerful and has so many attachments you hardly need anything else in the kitchen! We have to lift model and I thoroughly enjoy the ease in which it performs.

I've bought this a month ago and I'm very happy with it, I live in an apartment and work all day so I mostly do my baking over night and this machine is very quiet compared to the ac motor other stand mixers has. It's 1.3 ho motor is very powerful I can make anything and have no troubles mixing. I'm very happy with this machine I highly recommend the pro line series over there other lines.

My husband bought this for me for my 55th birthday, at my request. I have looked at these for YEARS and always talked myself out of it......till now!!! It is as awesome as I imagined. What a difference. It creams and mixes so much better and faster than my old mixer. Can't wait to use the dough hooks! I have the cast iron black color and love the color with my kitchen.
My advice....don't wait!! You will use this for YEARS making it well worth the purchase price

The Panther in my Kitchen
CheeseDaddy
9/18/2019
I bought this baby From Beth over the phone and not only was my service great but once I got this baby in my kitchen I was in love. I opted for the matte black model and I find myself rubbing it like a genie's lamp because the finish just feels good to the touch.
It's also quiet. I call it a panther because it's this large black entity purring in the corner of my kitchen. I made a quintuple cheesecake recipe with it and also bagels for brunch the next day. I love this thing like it's my own child.
Related, I also acquired the metal meat grinder attachment and made literally the best hamburger steak I've ever had in my life from some beef short ribs.
Honestly, if you're even moderately serious about cooking pick one of these up. God forbid if my house ever catch fire, but if it does I know what I'm carrying out like I'm rescuing a princess from a castle.

So quiet, excellent power
BrittanyTK

I bought the 7qt because I needed the increased power to handle the load I put through my mixer. So far I'm mostly impressed. It's incredibly quiet, and doesn't have a problem handling high volume. My one issue is that the housing for the motor still isn't well vented, so when making things that require long mixing times (e.g. Swiss meringue buttercream) there is still a concerning amount of heat buildup. I'm looking forward to putting this thing through its paces over time, though.

I love the larger bowl. It's great when multiplying the recipes to make dozens more cookies at a time. It's great also when making pasta and bread dough as it allows for extra room for the dough.

I have considered buying this 7 qt mixer for at least 9 months, finally decided I was worth it! It is a beautiful addition to my kitchen and works like a charm. I look forward to making many breads, rolls, cakes and cookies. I did read the instruction book before using which was very helpful. Do I wish that removal of the bowl was a little easier....yes.

7 Quart Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer
Dor55
5/17/2019
For the price you pay for this machine you would expect it to work for you and not for you to work for it. I have owned this machine for 3 or more years now and I bake less and less because of it. Every thing I try to mix is like a work out. Constantly scaping the sides and bottom of the bowl so it will mix. It won't whip one pound of butter or small amount of anything.(ex:1 or 2 eggs) Even large amounts it just pushes everything to the side of the bowl. The only mixer paddle that works is the one with the rubber on the sides. But That is only good for cake mixing or something as light. It will not whip. And is not recommended for any stiff type of mixture that the dough beater should be used for. When I called them about this. There suggestion was I needed a smaller bowl.. Don't fall for that... It is not the size of the bowl, it is the paddles used for mixing that are the wrong shape and don't fit the bowls. They are not close enough to the edges or bottom and everything gets packed to the outside 3/4 of a inch and then you have to scrap every few turns to get it to mix. All that power doesn't mean a thing when there is nothing in the center to mix. I spent the money to get the smaller bowl and tried it. Don't waste your money. It will not make any difference except now you have a shorter bowl that food (eggs, cream) can splash out of. It still will not whip butter or one egg. Everything still gets packed to the outside and will need to be scraped inwards to be mixed.

The Pro Line Series 7 is an exceptional machine. The richness of the textured covering stands out and the strength of the machine can take on any type of bread mixing/kneading. The virtuosity of the machine is amazing. Buy one of these and you don't need any other type of mixer. We love it.

I bought this a few months ago and love it. I don't use it a lot but when I do I feel like a professional chef. There is a learning curve as the power of it is much faster than the Artisan machine I had. I just love the matte black color. I would like to display it all the time on my counter but space doesn't allow for that. I'm so glad I bit the bullet and purchased this mixer. One happy lady here

I bought this about a month ago and I love it! I can bake twice as much at one time. The only downfall I've found is taking the bowl on and off with the beater. You have to take the beater off and leave in the bowl to remove bowl after mixing the ingredients. A bowl lift and tilt head would be the ultimate stand mixer!

Question?
TaniaR
4/7/2019
I purchased this beautiful mixer from QVC and have used it a couple of times. I used today and made a double recipe of bagels, approx 2.5 lb dough. The mixer seemed to be laboring kneading the dough and would stall also there is a strong smell coming from the mixer. I felt the motor and its warm but not hot. Has anyone experienced this? Thank you I give only a 3 star because I am not sure if there is something wrong with the design.

My old 6 quart gave out recently after a particularly stiff dough and I was faced choosing a new mixer. I decided to upgrade to the 7 quart Pro Line and glad I did. The mixer is incredibly powerful and surprisingly very quiet. It also seems more stable when mixing and I don't get the movement across the counter I did with the older model. Egg whites are a thing of beauty with the new whisk, making butter was a breeze, and dough kneads beautifully. The larger bowl is great and I love the cast iron color that matches many of the pans I have hanging on the rack. It is very expensive, but got it on sale. Happy with the new machine!

Bought this last month and the power is amazing. Grinds partially frozen meat with ease. It mixes up large batches of batter with frozen berries easily on any speed without stopping. Huge improvement over the previous unit that lasted over 30 years processing wild game every fall and meals through the year!

Finally replace my 30 yr old Kitchen Aid mixer. Great deal and this machine is amazing! Very sturdy as expected. The 7 qt bowl might be a bit large for every day use, but I've made bread in this one and it's perfect. Great for doubling recipes and no worries about spillage.

Didn't work, misleading "discount"
Rlc34
1/22/2019
I ordered this mixer when I called KitchenAid to find out the best place to take my old mixer to get fixed. My options were limited so the very lovely lady I spoke to offered me a $300 "discount " if I ordered this one while still on the phone with her. Sounded like an amazing deal, and she threw in free shipping. I ended up paying $479 plus tax, which come to find out, is the exact same price as it would have been had I ordered it from amazon. She told me it would be there by Saturday of that week. It didn't arrive until Wednesday of the following week and when it did, it wouldn't even turn on. I bake for a livofrom my home, so I needed it immediately. When I called to figure out the return process, the man I spoke with was smug and unapologetic. I wish I would've just orderythis from amazon, as the whole process would have been more streamlined.

I got this mixer as a gift and only got to use it twice, one to make cookies and one to make dough. It is so nice to have the ability to raise and lower the bowl. Being this is the second Kitchenaid mixer I have owned, (first one which was an Artisian tilt head 5qt model got taken by the ex when she left) I was super excited to finally get another one and a large capacity one at that. Well, the excitement was short lived as I'm back to not having one again because the new one I just got was taken right off my tailgate when I was moving from my townhouse to my new place. I can only assume someone walked by while I was in the house grabbing other things to load in my truck because when I came back out, it (and all the attachments I had) was gone. :( I'm sure where ever the mixer is now, it's making great batches of goodies for whoever has it now. I would definitely recommend this mixer but be careful of where you place it because it is well liked by many and it might walk off if left unattended. I can't wait to get a replacement because using my handheld mixer just isn't the same. One day.... one day... you and the meat grinder attachment will be back in my hands and we will make the best hamburgers and hamburger buns ever!

Pro Line Series 6 Bowl Lift
masrach
12/10/2018
After owning my first kitchenaid mixer that just turned 30 this year and although it still works, I wanted to upgrade. My daughter found the Proline Series 6 for a great price and convinced me to purchase one with her. She and I were so excited to get it home and start baking. I love making bread and she is a cupcake queen. To my surprise and absolute disappointment I realized that what we got was like buying a brand new 10-speed bike with tricycle parts. the machine attachments do not work in the Proline Series 6. So now after we paid a hefty price for the machine we now have to "PURCHASE" attachments to be able to use it. I'm very disappointed in KitchenAid. I expected better and I would like the company to fix this error. Your products are not cheap but as a consumer you expect to receive what you pay for.

I took a risk and bought this mixer to 'replace' my 25yo 5-Quart that I had gotten as a wedding present. [The beloved older mixer is still very much in service. It is being moved to our 2nd home.] I was worried that the new mixer wouldn't reflect the extraordinary quality I'd grown to know and love in my original mixer. This has not been the case. This new mixer is even better!
